Leave Moshi for a village on the lower slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, where cooler air, fertile soil and reliable water support coffee, bananas and other crops. The village visit is led locally and begins with a walk through cultivated land and residential areas. Along the way, the guide explains how farms are organized, how water channels are used and how coffee, bananas, vegetables and fruit are grown together.
Depending on the selected village and local arrangements, the program can include a coffee demonstration, a local meal and a walk toward a nearby waterfall. In the Marangu area, paths lead through green countryside toward waterfalls supplied by water descending from the Kilimanjaro slopes. The walking route passes farms, tropical plants and small waterways, and the guide explains plants and local land use along the way.
Waterfall paths can be slippery, especially after rain, so suitable walking shoes are important. The village program is arranged around the community rather than a fixed performance; activities can therefore vary by date. After the walk, meal or coffee activity included in the confirmed program, return to Moshi in the late afternoon.
